2003-08-11 - 10:23 p.m. It was so cool to see the difference with the book sales last weekend. Now, it could have partially been the venue--it was my first Science Fiction convention instead of a book faire, but compared to the 4 books I sold the week before, I sold 18 books this weekend. That included a floppy and five mini-disks. At least 10 of them were on the same day. What made the difference? One thing was that I dressed the part on Saturday and Sunday. I was in a bodice and skirt, and that automatically got attention (and helped me get into the "part" of seller). Secondly, I had a great opening line. As someone walked by my table, I called out "What Fantasy can I sell you today?" Almost everyone who walked by, whether they bought anything or not, at least stopped for a second to look. Most of those who didn't buy took a card or bookmark for future reference. I can't wait to see if it works again at Dragon*Con! I'll keep you posted! Sign My Guestbook! powered by SignMyGuestbook.com
