Ah, the reality of finances....

Even when I feel that I have been gaining ground as a writer, and that I can actually see money going into the bank, it has been pointed out to me that there is considerably MORE going out!

Guess this means that the old adage "You've got to spend money to make money" may be true, but doesn't help anything if there is no money flowing back.

Oh, I expect that my royalty checks will reflect a slight surge, but any author knows that the reality of royalties is that those checks are few and fairly far between.
